Dark Eternal v2.0 is now in open beta. Please head over to our discord for a download URL if interested(Under Announcements). I anticipate official release (here on itch.io and other platforms) will be early 2025.
Seeing as this is technically a sequel, Do you perhaps also have or know where I can get Dissolution and also the intro music is an epic banger whats the name of it?
and glad that you liked the title theme, it's called "Layers of Lies" by a band called Darkane. Unfortunately, the band has broken up and no longer makes music or performs to my knowledge. =\
Yeah it is technically a sequel, as it continues upon my original game "Dissolution", but the story is self-contained and does not require any knowledge of Dissolution to play and understand. Keep in mind Dissolution was only a 14 hour game, where as Dark Eternal is 45-50, so in essence you can think of Dissolution as more of an optional prelude story.
Thanks for the reply. I did have another question - is there a chance of this being uploaded in such a way that I can play it straight from the itch.io application, and not just have the installer sitting in the itch folder? Not a dealbreaker at all, it would just be very slightly more convenient.

I can't get over that the guy's name is Xenogears. Phew, it feels good getting that off my chest.
What is a Xenogears, but a miserable pile of secrets?

Hey Tau,
You can find Dissolution Here.

Uh apologies for the late reply and thank you very much, this was much appreciated and yeah that does seem like a shame well either way thank you.
From the description, I'm a little unclear - is this a sequel or not?

Hey Zeph,
I didn't realize the app had an issue running the game, thanks for bringing that to my attention.
I'll research how itch needs me to upload the game in order to run natively in the app and release a patch sometime in the near future.
Good news, it was actually quite a bit easier than I anticipated.
You should now be able to launch the game natively in the app, although you will need to uninstall/reinstall first.
Thanks again for bringing this to my attention!
